Visual Travel Diaries: Caribbean Cruise to Key West + Cozumel

katnp-bachleorette-cruise-4

The alternative title for this post was ‘A Vacation That Will Go Down in History’ because that’s how crazy good this getaway was. By far one of my favorite vacations I’ve ever been on.

Good company. Good energy. Good food. Good drinks…so many good drinks.

I could not ask for a better send off to married life. So big thank you to my MOH for suggesting the idea to go on a cruise, cause I would never have thought of it, and for her and my other bridesmaid for making it such a great time.

I wish all my bridesmaids could’ve made it, but I know they were sipping pina coladas along with us in spirit :)

I took tons of pictures y’all – TONS. I mean I usually take a lot of pictures, but when I started going through them, I was like geez this is a lot even for me.

I tried editing it down as much as I could, but, not gonna lie – there’s still a good amount of photos in this post. I just couldn’t say no! They’re all so bright and fun, I’m hoping they’ll put a smile on your face as they do for me.

Continue on to see all my snaps and read more about all the shenanigans we got into.

Enjoy!

I love love lurrrrved Key West! What a fun and cute little city. I could’ve spent more time than we did there, but I think we made the most of the time we had. It was fun to just walk the streets, pina coladas in hand {note: having pina coladas in hand will be a recurring theme 😉 }.

I tried conch fritters for the first time – which were delicious.

But I’m convinced anything fried tastes delicious.

We also played  a game ‘What Would Derrick Say’, where my MOH asked me questions she already had DCT answer to see if I could guess what he would say.

I’ll be honest and say that I failed pretty hard. But in my defense, DCT’s answers were a bit tricky. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it. 😉

Oh Cozumel…..Cozumel was not ready for us {or maybe we weren’t ready for Cozumel?}

Lots of shenanigans occurred during this leg of the trip, from getting eaten alive by mosquitos at the Mayan Ruins (photos from our excursion there further below!) to our bus breaking down on our way to the beach and hijacking someone’s taxi, to the most epic hunt for shrimp/fish tacos, and finally to the power shutting down in the entire city…. Cozumel was never boring that’s for sure!

Exploring some of the Mayan ruins was an experience! Our tour guide, Dante, was a descendant of the Mayans and it was interesting to hear him tell the story behind his people and their culture, as well as bust some of the myths pop culture has about the Mayans and their seemingly “out of this world” knowledge.

I was also quite intrigued with how Dante was wearing full length pants and what looked like a pretty thick polo and didn’t have a drop of sweat on him. While I was over here sweating buckets – y’all, Mexico is HOT. I definitely was not ready for the heat, and was savoring every little breeze that came our way.

Our time spent on the boat was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun times. The first day on I ended up winning a $150 credit for a massage at the spa – it was a killer way to start the trip!

My favorite spot on the ship was the Serenity Adults Only Pool Deck. It was at the top of the ship, away from the craziness and little kiddos on the main pool deck. It had cushioned pool chairs, it’s own bar and two whirlpools. I could’ve stayed there the entire trip and be perfectly content. Just as long as the pina coladas kept flowing 😉
