Ahh New Orleans – as someone who was born in Louisiana, I feel a little embarrassed that this was my first time visiting the city. But it stole my heart nonetheless.
DCT and I arrived late Saturday afternoon, threw our stuff down in our hotel and immediately ran outside to relish in the 75 degree weather. {God it was so WARM}
The city reminded me a lot of Charleston, with it’s plethora of historical houses and quaint cobblestone streets. You really feel as if you’ve stepped back in time and there’s a picturesque scene around every corner – which is my excuse for so many pictures
Our first day was spent exploring the French Quarter, though we avoided Bourbon Street at all costs – that street was horrific, it smells and apparently they have to hose it down every morning from the previous night’s activities…..Eek! No thanks.
We visited Cafe Du Monde for their famous beignets {which were uh-mazing}, took a stroll through the water park while watching the old steam boats and cruise ships pass by. And to close out the day we popped into the casino to play a little Russian Roulette and left with an extra $300! #winning
All in all, it was a great first day and night.
Enjoy the photos below and stay tuned for part 2!

Thanks for reading!
