You’re Invited! | Holiday Shopping with Barbour on Dec. 4th

barbour-holiday-outfit-post-6-2Hi all!

This post is coming to you from Fort Worth, TX! After several delays and missed connections DCT and I FINALLY made it down here, and are officially indulging in some much needed R&R.

But today I want to talk you about a very special holiday event coming up back in Chicago that I’m so excited to be a part of!

On December 4th, Lincoln Park Merchants Association is hosting a holiday shopping extravaganza with boutiques located along Armitage, Halsted, & Webster. They’ve paired local bloggers with participating stores and I’m super pumped to share I’ve been paired with Barbour along with Jess of The Golden Girl and Kelly of Kelly in the City!

For those of you who don’t know Barbour – they’re a UK brand that specializes in men’s and women’s outerwear, and are famously known for their classic wax jackets and rich heritage in motorcycle clothing – specifically biking jackets.

The brand started back in 1894 and they are currently celebrating 120 years as a family-owned business – which in this day and age is absolutely amazing!

Their products embrace the unique values of the British countryside and bring qualities of wit, grit, and glamour to their beautifully made and completely functional clothing.

I personally love the edginess of their outerwear – you can see the motorcycle influence throughout the brand, which makes their winter jackets standout in a sea of your typical North Face & Colombia puffer coats.

Take this jacket for example. I love the textural contrast between the beeswax coated body and leather shoulder panels. It’s the perfect combination of rugged and sporty, yet sleek and contemporary.

Details, such as the game pocket on the back, gives a nod to classic hunting jackets and the tartan printed lining adds a touch of quinessential British flair.

I’m so glad to be paired with a brand with such a rich history and one-of-a-kind products!
