Last month I focused on adding summer pieces to my wardrobe in anticipation for the warmer months ahead of us. Flirty dresses and springtime shoes were my go-to’s and now I’m just anxiously awaiting that 70 degree sunshine to grace us in Chicago. I have never craved summer more in my entire life than right now.
As promised, here is a quick breakdown of everything I purchased last month.
Floral Neon Midi Dress (LuLu’s) – $46.00
Minty Green Maxi Dress (LuLu’s) – $49.00
Sleeveless Shirt Dress (Forever21) – $22.80
Green Open Back Midi Dress (Forever21) – $22.80
Peeptoe Booties (DSW) – $3.69
Nude Block Heel Sandals (DSW) – $3.69
Total Spent in April – $147.98
Yearly Total – $581.18

You’re probably wondering how the heck I got two pairs of shoes for only $3 each. As mentioned in the video I received an invite to a DSW Shoe Lover’s Party and at the event received a $75 gift card that obviously covered the majority of the cost of the shoes.
The best kind of shopping is that done on someone else’s dime 😉
Shout out to Nikia from ChiTown Fashionista for sending me the invite and to DSW for hosting a great event!
Thanks for reading folks!

Just ran across your blog via Nenonatural.com, I love it! I’m so glad I found it. And I’ve caught up with this series
Well done for staying within budget and still making such awesome purchases (The March romper *swoon* and those April shoes!!!! <3 I love the ankle boots hopefully I can find a similar pair in South Africa as it's cooling down here) I have dismally failed in my efforts to control my spending this year but thanks for the inspiration Ash, I'm gonna try to be better, hehe.
That’s awesome! Welcome, welcome! I know what you mean, it is a struggle every time not to go over, you notice how close I am every month, haha! However it does make me be smarter about what I’m buying and not spend money on things I’ll only wear once or twice.
