Oh Charleston. I’d forgotten how much of a beauty the city is. From the colorful houses, to the picturesque waterfront and cobble stone streets. Charleston is quite the town and I didn’t realize how much I really missed it.
The last time I went to visit was four years ago, and as you can imagine, a lot has changed, but I still have very fond memories of walking those streets. While I’ve enjoyed Chicago and have built a great community of friends and colleagues, there’s always going to be something about Charleston that may inevitably pull me back.
It’s a place I called home for a good six years, which is the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere and while my time in Chicago is creeping up there as well (going on 5 years come September!), going back to Charleston made me start thinking about possibly starting a new life chapter away from Chicago. Not necessarily back to Charleston, but definitely some place new.
Moving on from my introspective rant, y’all know I like to share my travels with you so I’ve grabbed a few snapshots from our first day of being touristy and re-visiting my college campus – which also lead me to discover how I never truly appreciated how awesome my campus is and how I lucky I was to be able to live, work, and play there for four years. Enjoy the photos below!
