Holiday Fashion Do’s & Don’ts with Chicago Blogger Network

Hi everyone!

Yesterday morning I had the greatest opportunity and pleasure of joining some fellow Chicago bloggers to show off some holiday fashion do’s and don’ts with the Chicago Blogger Network on LIVE TV! Yes, you read that correctly, I was on live TV for WGN! Ahhh! You can imagine how thrilled, yet terrified I was all at once, haha!

It was such a great experience, I’m happy to say I did not embarrass myself too much and I can’t thank Jill from Chicago Blogger Network (and blog Jess & Jill) enough for asking me to participate! I met some fabulous new bloggers including Megan from Stylish & Scatterbrained, Jill from Hot Pink Style, Kaitland from The Hunter Style, Lauren from Lakeshore Lady, C.J. from Toe That Line, and Janet from Fashionaholic. If you haven’t, you should definitely check out and follow all their blogs!

Check out my TV debut below, I rocked the holiday fashion do of dressing up trousers, and you all know I love me a great pair of trousers! All the clothing was from Chicago boutique Roam located on Wells St. in Old Town. I loved the tuxedo pants I got to wear, they were so comfortable that I may be stopping by Roam to pick up my own pair! 😉

To expand on the tips given during the segment I put together a few fashion collages to give you all more ideas on how to rock these holiday fashion do’s! Check them out below and let me know if you’ll be trying any of these yourself!

Holiday Fashion Do's
Shop it: M&Co Beaded dress / DSQUARED Classy Bow Red Dress / Vivienne Westwood Apache Dress

This Do should be a staple no matter what season, so whether you have great legs, stellar curves or Michelle Obama arms showcase them in your holiday attire!

Holiday Fashion Do's

Shop it: TopShop blazer / Monsoon lace sequin top / Alice & Olivia dress / J Brand jeans

Winter white is a huge trend this year! Gone is the old fashion rule of “no white after Labor Day”, so take a chance and try rocking white this season. I love the idea of mixing different shades or pairing it with metallics. As always, whenever wearing white (no matter what season), you’ve got to be extra careful not to get any spills!

Holiday Fashion Do's
Shop it: TopShop sequin blazer / Balmain velvet blazer / Paul & Joe Sister metallic blazer / Stella McCartney tuxedo blazer / Acne red blazer

It’s the holidays and the weather outside is a bit frightful 😉 but don’t let the desire to look stylish flaw your judgement, you don’t have to freeze to look great! Opt for a festive blazer to throw over that cocktail dress, you’ll still look chic and stay warm too!

Holiday Fashion Do's
Shop it: J.Crew slim wool trousers / Joseph windowpane trousers / Moschino brocade trousers

As it says in the segment, just because it’s a dressy occasion doesn’t mean you can’t rock some stylish trousers! Add a statement pump, a poppy lip color, and bold accessories to make the look more feminine and chic.

Holiday Fashion Do's

Shop it: French Connection velvet dress / Alice & Olivia ruched dress / Forever New skater dress / Coast bandeau dress / Alexander Wang one shoulder dress

When you’re really at a loss of what to wear a classic LBD can never steer you wrong! Simply update the look with a statement piece of jewelry or bold tights and you’ll have a totally fun new holiday look!

Holiday Fashion Do's
Shop it: J.Crew sequin pumps / J.Crew jeweled sequin pumps / White House Black Market sequin pumps / TopShop sequin dress / TopShop sequin crop top / Ally Fashion stripe sequin mini skirt / Zoe Jordan sequin top / Vera Wang sequin dress / TopShop sequin jacket

Last but certainly not least, tis the season to sparkle and shine so why not add a bit to your wardrobe! There’s nothing wrong with a little gltiz, especially during the holiday season. Just be sure to keep your accessories simple to really let the sequins shine!

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
