As you’re reading this DCT and I are hopefully almost to our final destination in TX ready to eat, drink, and be merry for the rest of the week! 😀
As mentioned in Monday’s post, while ’tis the season for giving thanks, ’tis also the season for SHOPPING. All my “big girl” designer purchases typically happen this time of year because let’s face it, how can you say no to 70% 3.1 Phillip Lim? There’s a line between self-control and just plain missing out on a great opportunity (though that line may blur a bit from time to time….:) )
To prepare you all for the shopping madness extravanganza that will be this coming weekend here are a few quick tips to help you dominate Black Friday, Cyber Monday and everything in between:
1. Know your Must-Have items – whether you’re lining up for doorbuster deals or surfing the interwebs, prepare yourself by doing some pre-shopping to determine what items you can’t leave without. That way you know what spots to hit first. (If you’re going to do most of your shopping online, bookmark your favorite items, that way you can get to them without navigating through the whole site again).
2. Create accounts with favorite stores – this will help make the checkout process faster so you can move on to your next destination. If you already have an account, make sure it’s up to date with all your current information. You don’t want your goodies shipped to the wrong place (happened to me before, trust me, no fun).
3. Be NICE – While shopping major deals can be great fun, it can also be quite stressful. And all that stress and high energy can cause people to act a little cray cray. I’ve (thankfully) never had to work a Black Friday at a big brand retailer, but I can imagine how insane it can be for the employees, there are a fair amount of horror stories across the internet. Do me, yourself, and everyone else a favor and don’t be one of those people. Remember what the holidays are really supposed to be about and just be nice to the employees, to the other shoppers, to your shopping comrades. You’ll be surprised how much more you’ll get out of an experience when you’re nice to someone.
So we’ve done all this talk about shopping Black Friday & Cyber Monday, now let’s actually do it!
